'The 50 Paintings ' Project
Painting # 15
Realistic painting by Rob Hefferan
48 year old Rob Hefferan is an exceptionally talented figurative artist based in Lancashire England.
His
oil Paintings are so realistic that one has to give it a closer second
look to understand that its not a photograph but an actual painting.
Here are a few more of his amazing works. The pattern of the chair's upholstery gives a velvety look.
The white satin effect of the dress is created using shades of blues and greys and pinks and highlights of white.
Check out the details on the China Vases behind and the intricate woodwork of the table..all done with oil paints and brush
The effect of sunlight filtering through the windows is amazingly created especially through the folds of the ballerina's dress.
Choosing the right color mixes is as important as the technique of painting.
If the technique is correct but the colors chosen for say the sunlit and shadow part of the floor are wrong it will just not produce this effect.
Like they say the sunlight should have the right amount of warmth in it and the shadow must have the right amount of coolness in it .
Knowing which are our cool colors and which are our warm colors helps a lot here.
